Dr. Kiera Kunkle works with adults and older adolescents experiencing difficulty navigating life’s many challenges and uncertainties. Since 2018, she has provided clinical services in a variety of treatment settings throughout Metro Detroit. Dr. Kunkle recognizes each client as a unique individual and tailors therapeutic experiences to fit their needs. She primarily provides therapy from a psychodynamic orientation while integrating skills-based approaches as needed. Dr. Kunkle’s therapy style explores past experiences that often shape current functioning. Through this deeper understanding, therapy can facilitate change. Her goal is to promote curiosity, insight, and autonomy in her clients, which enables healthier ways of coping and healing.
Her areas of specialization include young adulthood, identity development, depression, anxiety, attachment, relational concerns, adjustment concerns, trauma, grief and loss, and personality disorders.
Dr. Kunkle holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy and has experience as a student therapist, psychological assessment evaluator, and teaching assistant.
